Katarzyna Bojarska, PhD is a researcher at the Centre for Internet and Human Rights at the European-University Viadrina, currently working on the project “Democratic Meme Factory”. The project’s objective is to empower, train and support young people with migrant background in their social media competence to fight hate speech online with their own digital content. The CIHR provides scientific and technical expertise to project partners, help develop the pedagocical concept and the research design. Katarzyna’s main research interests include the dynamics of discrimination, prejudice and hate based on gender, sexuality, race and religion.
Before joining the CIHR, Katarzyna used to work at the University of Gdansk, Poland, where she taught sexuality gender and LGBTQ psychology courses. She has also taught graduate and postgraduate courses at the SWPS University in Poznan and at the Medical University of Warsaw. An experienced anti-discrimination trainer and sex-counsellor. She has researched and published about sexuality and gender-based prejudice, discriminatory language, and sexuality.
Katarzyna holds a PhD. in Psychology from University of Gdansk, Poland.
